Conveyancing Challenges and Threats


Steeped with heavy burdens including protecting the life savings of clients, constant regulation reforms and stakeholder demands, conveyancing certainly isn’t getting any easier. Richard Hinton who heads up TwentyConvey was joined by Gregor Angus from Amiqus to discuss these very pressures in an article for Modern Law magazine.

Richard and Gregor discuss how technology has helped to improve efficiencies but there is still a long way to go:

“There has undoubtedly been progress in the use of technology, and improved process efficiency at a lot of firms, but there is still a lot more that could be improved. Many firms still rely on manual processes for things like AML checks, meaning it’s a double whammy of higher risk, and lower efficiency.”

Richard also discusses how firms should consider external dependencies as business risks. One key risk is the source of work; firms that actively manage their pipelines are generally more stable. A lack of market awareness is another risk, as many firms operate without understanding their competitive positioning.
